tongue.
“Salt,” he said.
GoGo’s heart began beating so fast that her breath became short. She felt faint then
collapsed.
“My queen!” said the men at once and rushed to her.
Sooth felt her forehead and neck.
“Is she alright?” asked Daka.
“She needs rest,” he replied and lifted her into his arms.
“She’s been through too much,” said Daka, his face etched with concern.
Suddenly, Raki appeared in the observation cave above. “Sabutans! In the desert! They’re
riding this way!”
“Sabutans,” said Zuba with alarm. “What do we do now?”
“Engage in whatever ritual your god prescribes when you beseech him for assistance,”
Sooth replied. “We’re going to need it.”
