Soldiers and mercenaries rode toward Omar and Sygnosis with their swords aloft. But to
their shock and awe GoGo and her warriors appeared from the desert and rained down on them
like phantoms from the darkness. The Moroccans’ horses reared up in surprise as the forces
clashed. Daka shot several soldiers from horseback with his arrows. Sooth wielded two swords in
the Babylonian battle technique and had no need to hold the reins of his mount. He skillfully
sliced several soldiers who hit the ground missing hands and arms. They screamed and writhed,
bloody in the sand.
Zuba, Cane, Raki, and the royal guard slammed into the Moroccans and cut them down.
As Omar fought and blood sprayed, his eyes rolled and his fangs extended. Several Moroccans
witnessed his transformation and cowered in terror. Sygnosis leaped onto a soldier and bit him
deeply. He tumbled from his mount into the sand. Another Moroccan ran up behind her and thrust
his blade into her back.
“Witch of Jahannam!”
Sygnosis turned toward him and did not fall to his blade. In shock, he relentlessly slammed
his sword down but she blocked every strike. Suddenly, the fallen soldier that Sygnosis bit rose
up from the ground. His eyes were vampiric. He screeched like a banshee exposing his new fangs.
“Protect your master!” Sygnosis shouted.
Her new slave attacked the Moroccan soldier.
“Enthrall him!” said Sygnosis.
The soldier turned and ran but the vampire slave leaped onto his back, dragged him to the
sand and bit his neck as the soldier screamed. Another Moroccan soldier crept stealthily toward
Sygnosis. In the cacophony of battle she did not hear him coming. He aimed for her neck and
swung his sword. GoGo appeared from the darkness, leaned out from her horse and beheaded him
before his blade struck the fatal blow. She reached out for Sygnosis, they clasped hands and GoGo
