“You are my Rubaiyat, and on the pages of thy heart is where I shall be remembered, if not
in the pages of history. I may be destined to die, forgotten, but inside thy love I am Solomon.”
He squeezed and kissed her breasts. “Thy body is unmatched in all the universe.” He
gripped her large, round buttocks.
“My ass apologizes for my face,” GoGo said.
“Every night,” Kanja confessed and kissed her lips then lovingly ran the tip of his tongue
back and forth over her ugly scar as if it were the sweetest honeycomb.
“Let’s go riding tomorrow to the oasis,” GoGo said as he stroked her body and became
aroused.
“Let’s go riding tonight,” he replied.
She giggled like a schoolgirl. “Horseback riding.”
“Only if you promise no trick riding in front of the guards. Kings don’t like getting shown
up by their wives.”
They laughed together and it felt good to both of them. The crown was the source of their
misery and loneliness, and in that small glimmer of joy they were reminded of their marriage and
their mutual love of family. At that moment, Kanja and GoGo would have traded their kingdom
for love.
“How my husband makes me happy,” she thought and gazed into his adoring eyes.
“I love you,” Kanja said. Then he flinched. His smile broke and his face twisted.
“Kanja? What’s wron—?”
He buckled in her arms as a force behind him struck again. Blood spurted from his mouth
onto GoGo’s face.
“Kanja!” she screamed.
