She touched Sooth’s face affectionately. “Thank you, my old friend.”
Sooth nodded. GoGo watched as Omar sucked the blood from the goat’s throat so hard that
its hide collapsed around its skeleton.
“Drink it, drink it all,” she said to herself.
She wanted to be repulsed by her son’s vile craving but she wasn’t. Even the blood was
bliss. “You will help him make the transition?” she said to Sooth.
“Omar is now an Azulite vampire. He will not sleep again for the rest of his long life, so
there will be plenty of time for me to teach him everything he needs to know. And I will train him
to use his power. He will become a strong and deadly warrior.”
GoGo’s emotions were drained, but her spirit was renewed. For there was a reason now to
live . . . two reasons, Omar and Sygnosis. And a third reason whose time would come . . . revenge.
Chapter 8
Soul of the Sand Woman
GoGo walked down the long mountain tunnel. She felt like a bird that just landed after having
survived a storm. When she arrived at her royal cave chamber, Daka was standing in front of the
heavy velvet curtain, guarding the entrance. Why he felt he would need to guard it immediately
entered her mind. Was it to keep someone out? For surely he would not believe he could keep
Sygnosis in. Something was wrong.
